Last week the Closing Ceremony of the 32nd Festival de Cine de Bogotá took place.
The Bogotá Film Festival, the most important cinematographic event of the city and the only international competition that holds his name since 1984.
This year we celebrated 32 years without interruption. This way, Bogotá and Colombia stay present in the whole cinematographic world and especially in the world of cinema producers and their followers, who turn their eyes to our city and industry on the rise.
In this edition:
110 movies where shown in Competition of Cinema from New Directors, Social Documentary, Documentary on Art and Environment, Colombian Cinema and with a presentation of works in animation and short film. The Festival was present in two schools, four parish churches and two universities in its category “Bogocine goes to school”. The Festival payed tribute to the movie “El Río de las Tumbas” (The River of Thombs) by Julio Luzardo aimed to celebrate the 50 years since its premiere with a presentation in the category Cinema for the Blind. A sample of Palestine Cinema was shown. Two workshops where dictated: “Introduction to the Cinematographic Script” and “Contemporary Independent Audiovisual Production”. Directors presented their movies in the Cinemateca Distrital, Sala Fundadores, Casa del Teatro, Tadeo Lozano University and Botanical Garden. The Festival concentrated in the centre of the city, in traditional places such as the Cinemateca Distrital and Sala Fundadores. There were also screening in the Botanical Garden José Celestino Mutis, the Museum of Children, Casa del Teatro, Uniandinos, Calima Shopping Centre, Universities and Colleges.

Best Documentary on Environment: “Huicholes: los Ultimos Guardiuanes del Peyote” by Hernán Vilchez, Argentina-Mexico Best Documentary on Art “Enrique Grau”: “El Ultimo Poema” by Mirela Kruel, Brasil Best Social Documentary : “Tios y Tias” by John Petrizzelli, Venezuela Best Feature film, Precolombian Circle in Bronce: “La Sargento Matacho” by William Gonzalez, Colombia. Best Featurefilm, Precolombian Circle in Silver: “Las Vacas con Gafas” by Alex Santiago Perez, Puerto Rico Best Feature film, Precolombian Circle in Gold: “La Vida Después” by Pablo Bardauil and Andrés Longares, Argentina. Best Director: Alex Santiago Perez, “Las Vacas con Gafas”, Puerto Rico The Unicef-Festival de Cine de Bogotá Award for the best movie on children and teenagers, this year represented by a sculpture made by the maestro Nadín Ospina, will be given in a special event the 13th of November. The Precolombian Circle to the Best Colombian Short Film will be given in an extra event.
